Who We Are
MAS Tech was founded in 2006 by recycling pioneer Helmuth Schulz. His objective was to combine the quality potential of twin-screw extrusion with the specific requirements of plastics recycling. This work led to the patented conical co-rotating twin-screw extrusion concept that became the technological foundation of the company.
The company combines engineering, process technology, software development, machine production, project management, commissioning and service at its Austrian headquarters, with a focus on practical process design, long-term partnerships and continuous technical development.
Today, MAS Tech supplies individual machines and tailored system concepts for materials ranging from common polyolefins to engineering plastics and specialised recycling applications. The portfolio supports customers from material preparation and extrusion through melt filtration, degassing, regranulation, re-compounding and process control.
From Pioneering Idea To International Applications
2006
MAS Tech Is Founded
Helmuth Schulz established MAS after identifying that conventional recycling machinery could not fully meet the future quality requirements of recycled plastics. The company was created to develop a more capable extrusion concept for recycling applications.

2008
First Granulate Production
The first granulate was produced on an extrusion line equipped with the conical co-rotating twin-screw extruder. This marked an important step from development concept to industrial recycling technology.

Continuous Development
MAS Tech expanded the application of its extrusion technology into re-compounding, where recycled materials can be processed together with additives and fillers. The portfolio was subsequently extended with continuous MAS melt filtration and high-performance degassing solutions.

Continuity as a Family Business
Katharina Schulz took over ownership of MAS in 2017. The company continues as a second-generation family-owned business with a focus on sustainable growth, technical development and long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and international partners.
Core MAS Technologies
Conical co-rotating twin-screw extrusion is at the centre of the MAS technology platform. It is designed for the melting, homogenisation, degassing and processing of recycled plastics, including low-bulk-density materials, regrind, flakes and demanding compounds.
CDF continuous melt filtration supports stable removal of contaminants from polymer melts. DRD dry-cleaning and drying technology can prepare suitable plastic fractions without a conventional water-based washing stage. MAS also develops PET recycling, re-compounding, upgrade-line, laboratory-testing and digital process-control solutions.
These technologies can be supplied as individual machines or combined into project-specific recycling and upcycling systems according to the input material, contamination level, throughput target and required output quality.
Partnership From Material To Commissioning
MAS supports customers from the first material and process assessment through engineering, testing, system integration, commissioning and long-term optimisation. The project route is defined around the input material, contamination level, production target, required output quality and the conditions of the existing plant environment.
A coordinated team of project managers, process engineers, mechanical and electrical designers, software specialists, system fitters, service technicians and commissioning technicians manages the interfaces across the complete project lifecycle. This helps translate process requirements into a practical machine or line concept and provides one connected route from planning to productive operation.
Engineering And Production In Austria
At the MAS headquarters in Pucking, mechanical and electrical design, process technology, software development, machine production and central project functions work in close proximity. This in-house structure supports short technical coordination paths, consistent documentation and direct feedback between development, manufacturing and commissioning.
Production and core engineering remain centred in Austria, while an international network of local sales and technical partners supports customers in different markets. This combines direct access to MAS expertise with regional contact and service support.
What Matters For MAS
Innovation, reliability, respectful cooperation and integrity guide the way MAS works with customers, employees, suppliers and partners. As a family-owned company, MAS takes a long-term view of technical development, customer relationships and sustainable business growth.
The objective is not simply to process plastic waste, but to improve recyclable materials so they can be used again in higher-quality applications. MAS develops equipment and process concepts that connect technical performance with responsible material use and economically viable recycling.
