Improve Your Existing Recycling Line Performance
The right upgrade starts with finding the real bottleneck.
Feeding, filtration, vacuum, controls or material preparation can all limit throughput, stability and output quality.
MAS evaluates the complete line and compares operating changes, targeted retrofits and staged upgrades before recommending new equipment.
Upgrade Only When The Bottleneck Is Proven
An existing line may be limited by material preparation, feeding, extruder condition, screw/barrel wear, drive capacity, melt temperature, filtration, vacuum/degassing, pressure build-up, pelletising, controls, utilities, maintenance or downstream handling. Similar symptoms can have different causes.
Diagnosis: Establish a baseline from representative material and operating data. Separate the observed symptom—such as low throughput, pressure instability, screen-change downtime, volatile defects or inconsistent pellets—from its verified root cause.
Options to compare: operating/recipe optimisation; maintenance or repair; upstream preparation; component retrofit; filtration or degassing upgrade; controls/automation; staged retrofit; or new line.
Recommendation: Upgrade only the stages that resolve the proven bottleneck and remain compatible with the existing equipment’s condition and capacity.
Upgrade Benefits at a Glance
Throughput Optimisation
Higher throughput and stable operation at controlled melt pressure and temperature.
Low-Maintenance Filtration
Continuous melt filtration with reduced manual screen-change effort and reliable removal of solid contaminants.
Advanced Vacuum Degassing
Improved degassing through a large, continuously renewed melt surface and engineered vacuum treatment.
Consistent Pellet Performance
More consistent pellet quality through improved melt preparation and homogenisation of variable recycled feedstocks.
Cost-Effective Line Upgrade
Lower capital investment by upgrading critical process stages instead of replacing the complete extrusion line.
Polymer-Friendly Processing
Gentle, low-shear processing that helps protect polymer quality while reducing wear and maintenance requirements.
Configure The Upgrade Around The Audit
The CDF melt filter continuously removes contaminants such as wood, paper, non-melting plastics, rubber and similar particles from the polymer melt. Its continuous operating principle removes the need for constant, laborious mesh-screen changes, keeps personnel effort low, and can replace suitable existing filtration systems.
Downstream of the CDF filter, a compact single-screw TA cascade extruder — standard length only about 15 L/D — creates a large, continuously renewed melt surface. A dedicated melt-distribution segment, optimised screw geometry, three generously arranged degassing domes and a correctly sized vacuum system support effective removal of moisture and volatile components, even from very difficult-to-process melts.
Typical applications include PE and PP regrind, PET, plastic flakes and recycled polymer streams that need improved melt filtration, degassing or pellet consistency. Final suitability and system sizing depend on the material condition, contamination profile, existing equipment and required throughput.

What Our Customers Say
The conical shape is very advantageous when melting the material, where with little shear and very short dwell time, the material is damaged as little as possible.
Arjan Van Kempen, CEO – Cumapol (NL)
We always have to try to buy as good as possible to produce top quality regranulate. And we do that with the technology we bought from MAS.
Peter Daalder, CEO – Daly Plastics (NL)
The Twin Screw Extruder from MAS is an engineering feat in the field of plastics recycling, coupled with the superb performance of the Continuous Disc Filtration.
